Rent Supplement Program

Our Foundation offers the following housing programs for individuals and families.

Rent Supplement Program

A subsidy is paid directly to an eligible tenant to assist with their rental costs


Rural & Family Housing

Housing units made available to eligible tenants at 30% of a household's adjusted income.

This program provides modest rental accommodation to low-income families in small rural communities. The program offered by our Foundation is limited to the following units in the designated communities.

The Direct to Tenant Rent Supplement Program is delivered by the Foundation on behalf of the Province of Alberta. The Province reimburses the Foundation for the subsidies paid and also pays the Foundation an administrative fee.


Rent Supplement

The program offers the following:

A subsidy paid monthly, directly to an eligible tenant to assist with their rental costs;

The Subsidy is based on the difference between 30 percent of a household’s income and an agreed upon market rent.


Eligibility

The following criteria apply for eligibility purposes:

Applicant's annual household income must meet the local core need income thresholds (CNITS)

Applicants must be Canadian Citizens or have Landed Immigrant Status.

As there are a limited number of subsidies, priority for assistance will be based on those in greatest need being helped first.

Applications are assessed based on need, those greatest in need receive available subsidies first.
